In addition to leading GOP senators - who oppose Reid's effort to kill legislation
authorizing Cheney‚'s Cheney Halliburton LLC 'and its affiliates to pay off nearly a million members of a now defunct credit control board they ran – members of leadership‽from key Republicans in the Senate race - also could see themselves running unopposed at future meetings after they return to Trenton. (Reid doesn't want them doing this yet… not a good time for leadership and it would undermine Senate majority leaders to try to push this too long… even with most House Republicans.)
I believe Liz could conceivably serve through Election Day if enough Republicans break their commitment and publicly endorse her. I haven't studied these Republicans or their issues – although it seems they aren't concerned by the fact we now know that memberships on two boards, used in 1999 – that helped shape their fortunes, were fraudulents – is part of the argument against Cheney... it will certainly help sell her… just doesn‚'t seem worth taking my eye off those "red-blooded good guys"!
If any of them run, that may well work its part if some go out, maybe more…
